Cremations
At Lord-Brown & Harty Ltd., we understand the emotional complexities of funeral planning and are here to support you every step of the way. Cremation is an increasingly popular choice, and we offer flexible options to accommodate your preferences for the service. Whether you choose a chapel at the crematorium, a church, or another suitable venue, we prioritise honouring your wishes.
We can help you find the right person to conduct the ceremony, whether it is religious or non-religious. During the service, guests may gather outside or be seated in the chapel before the coffin arrives. Personal touches such as hymns, songs, eulogies, and readings can be included. At the end of the service, you can choose to close the crematorium curtain or leave it open for final respects as guests exit.
Deciding what to do with your loved one's ashes can be a deeply personal and challenging choice. Most crematoriums can return the ashes within a week, and we are here to offer guidance and support as you consider your options.

Burials
Planning a burial can be emotionally challenging, and our goal is to provide compassionate support and guidance during this difficult time. Our team is available to assist you in organising a funeral and burial at a suitable cemetery, graveyard, or burial ground, along with a service in a church or chapel if desired. We believe in tailoring the funeral service to your personal preferences and beliefs, whether you prefer a formal or informal ceremony, or a religious or non-religious service.
We understand that the burial process can be overwhelming, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Our compassionate team is available to address any questions or concerns you may have.
Green Funerals
While there is no industry standard for a "green" or "eco" funeral, we can help arrange your loved one's final resting place in a natural burial ground. These funerals can still incorporate faith-based elements and offer environmentally friendly coffin and ashes casket options. A committal ceremony can be held at the graveside, and flowers can be placed.
Unattended Cremations
For those seeking simplicity or facing budget constraints, unattended cremations provide a more affordable option. This choice involves a straightforward cremation process without a formal funeral service and is typically unattended, allowing you to bid farewell to your loved one in your own way.
Although there is no formal service, you can still arrange a private memorial service or a celebration of life before or after the cremation to honour your loved one's wishes. We are here to help you determine if an unattended cremation is the right choice for your loved one and provide additional information to assist in organising such a service.
At Lord-Brown & Harty Ltd., we are committed to supporting you with compassion and care, providing guidance through each option to help you create a meaningful and fitting tribute to your loved one.
